Apps for Amazon’s Kindle continue to grow – and the growth is most noticeable among the books, comics and graphic novels for children. Children can enjoy these books through iPhone apps and Android apps as well as on other smartphone apps. Mobile apps developers can develop apps that will take advantage of the expansion of the Kindle apps.

According to Amazon “The children’s books feature fixed layouts and Kindle Text Pop-Up in supported titles, making it easier for readers to magnify text. In supported comics and graphic novels, readers will have access to a feature called Kindle Panel View that lets users view “in a panel by panel experience (Reisinger).”

This allows the digital books on your mobile or tablet device to be more kid friendly. Amazon has over 1,000 books and comic available for children in full color. The full color books are limited to the kindle fire. This makes sense as the other Kindle e-readers lack color. The Kindle Fire is due for a new upgrade later this year.
